This greeting card design is made with several types of silk and cotton with plant dyes: madder roots give the red; the yellow is from weld leaves and the blue from woad leaves. The green is made from weld over-dyed with woad. The embroidery threads are also made from silk dyed with plant dyes. The speckled brown backing paper is made from a mixture of banana skin and recycled paper.
